Ingredients
Scale
1.5 pounds ground beef
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 onion, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup shredded provolone cheese
1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
2 eggs, beaten
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup shredded provolone cheese (for topping)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, diced green bell pepper, diced onion, minced garlic, 1 cup of shredded provolone cheese, panko breadcrumbs, beaten eggs, Worcestershire sauce, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything together until well-incorporated, but be careful not to overwork the mixture.
Lightly grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with cooking spray or olive oil. Transfer the beef mixture into the prepared pan, gently shaping it into a loaf.
Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for 60-70 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). About 10 minutes before the end of the baking time, sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded provolone cheese over the top of the meatloaf.
Once the Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf is cooked through, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes. Serve the meatloaf warm, and don’t forget to offer a side of your favorite condiments, such as sautéed peppers and onions, or a tangy Thousand Island-style dressing.
