Ingredients
Scale
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice (about 3–4 oranges)
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons honey
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon grated orange zest
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for a spicy kick)
Salt and black pepper to taste
Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Begin by patting the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and seasoning them generously with salt and black pepper.
In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the freshly squeezed orange juice, soy sauce, honey, garlic, orange zest, ground ginger, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using).
Heat a large skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil or cooking spray, and once the pan is hot, add the seasoned chicken breasts. Cook the chicken for 3-4 minutes per side, or until it develops a nice golden-brown crust.
Once the chicken is browned, pour the prepared orange sauce into the pan, making sure to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let the chicken simmer in the sauce for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly.
Remove the pan from the heat and transfer the orange sauce chicken to a serving platter. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley, if desired. Serve the chicken hot, accompanied by your favorite side dishes.
