Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound of large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- 2 teaspoons of freshly cracked black pepper
- 1 teaspoon of sea salt
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, finely chopped
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1/2 cup of canola oil
- Optional: Sliced chili peppers
Instructions
- Begin by rinsing the shrimp under cold water, ensuring they are clean. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the shrimp with cornstarch, cracked black pepper, sea salt, minced garlic, and ginger. Toss them until the shrimp are evenly coated.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the canola oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, it’s time to fry the shrimp.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet in batches. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- As the last batch is cooking, add sliced chili peppers to the remaining oil. Toss in the cooked shrimp and green onions, mixing well.
- Serve the salt and pepper shrimp immediately, ideally over rice or a fresh salad.
