Description

Delic Chicken Wontons in Zesty Spicy Chili Sauce Savory wonton filling simmered in rich flavpacked sauce Quick easy prep Perfect appetizer or main

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 package wonton wrappers (around 4050 wrappers)
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha (or more, to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro (optional)

  • Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, and white pepper. Use your hands or a fork to mix the ingredients until they’re evenly distributed and the filling is well-incorporated.
  • Lay a wonton wrapper on a clean, flat surface in a diamond shape. Place a heaping teaspoon of the chicken filling in the center of the wrapper. Dip your finger in water and run it along the edges of the wrapper to moisten them. Fold the wrapper in half diagonally to form a triangle, pressing the edges to seal. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  • In a large skillet or wok, heat about 1-2 inches of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Carefully add the wontons, in batches, and fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Transfer the fried wontons to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, Sriracha, and sesame oil until well combined. Stir in the chopped cilantro, if using.
  • Arrange the crispy fried wontons on a serving platter and drizzle the spicy chili sauce over the top. Serve immediately, while the wontons are hot and crispy.
