Ingredients
Scale
- 1 whole branzino (about 2–3 pounds)
- 8 oz lump crab meat (fresh or canned; make sure it’s quality)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (for a gluten-free alternative, use almond flour)
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise (Greek yogurt can be a lighter substitute)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (or your favorite seafood seasoning)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Clean the branzino, removing its guts and scales, and ensure it’s fileted correctly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the lump crab meat, breadcrumbs, onion, red bell pepper, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Fold together gently.
- Gently open the cavity of the branzino and spoon in the crab imperial mixture.
- Place the stuffed branzino on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for about 30 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Carefully transfer the branzino to a serving platter, and sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
